The footage shows a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction near Whitby. Moments later, a fiery crash occurs, engulfing several vehicles.
Police have confirmed that a two grandparents and their infant grandchild were among the victims. Emergency services worked tirelessly at the scene, but sadly, the victims could not be saved.
The crash has left the community in mourning and raised questions about the safety of Ontario's highways. As of now, the key stretch of Highway 401 where the accident occurred remains closed to traffic, and authorities are urging drivers to avoid the area.
